Phil Jackson to save the Knicks. That kind of thing. Certain moments of greatness can’t be duplicated, but new stories can be told. With just the stroke of his pen, Bruno shattered his own expectations and handed us bangers on top of bangers with 24K Magic.
From the onset, Mars adroitly injects us with heavy doses of happy vibes that would make Pharrell Williams blush. The first single and title track “24K Magic” instantly pulls you in with its lushness and luminous sounds. Bruno’s indomitable swagger beams as he uses the intro track as his welcome back record after being away from the game for four years. “I’m a dangerous man with some money in my pocket/So many pretty girls around me and they waking up the rocket,” he confidently asserts.
After reminding us of his majestic swagger on the intro track, Bruno croons his heart away about finding that one sumptuous damsel he’s searching for on “Chunky.” He sprinkles a tinge of New Edition on this 80s driven-record, and makes a lustrous replica of “Candy Girl,” which screams hit-record. He continues his streak of homaging tunes on the bombastic and greasy record “Perm.” We can almost guarantee that every uncle and aunt will be bopping their heads at their upcoming family reunions to this heater.
On “That’s What I Like,” Bruno breaks out the strawberry champagne and ice bucket and promises to allow his leading lady to dictate the pace of the night. (“You deserve it baby. You deserve it all,” belts Mars.) He succinctly gets his point across by instilling that much needed old-school nostalgia lacking in music today with nine tracks. Instead of diving into the album with a bloated guest list, Bruno and his production team, Shampoo Press & Curl (with assistance from longtime collaborators The Stereotypes) ensure 80s babies stay forever young. Because of Bruno’s new album, vintage R&B has a pulse in 2016.

During the live performance of the Major Key track “Do You Mind” with DJ Khaled, Nicki Minaj, Future, and Rick Ross, Alsina experienced technical difficulties with his microphone, but to the viewers, it looked like he was lip-syncing.
Initially, it seemed as if he was able to shrug it off, but according to a recent Instagram post, he’s clearly still upset. Alsina says he learned his mic’s audio was purposely nixed. The post features a screenshot of a text message thread from an unidentified person alleging the AMA tech staff was given instructions not to run his mic to live television.

One especially bold Belieber reached inside the open window when Justin punched him square in the jaw as footage from TMZ shows. The fan doubled backward and held his bloodied mouth. Other fans gathered around to examine the damage as Bieber’s car drove away.
The 22-year-old superstar was on the losing end of a fistfight in a hotel in Cleveland earlier this year. So maybe he needed a public display of aggression to make up for the embarrassment.

Fans of the rising Atlanta rapper have undertaken the task of bombarding Jenner’s boyfriend Tyga’s Instagram pages with a series of disrespectful comments.
The brouhaha began when 21 Savage tweeted a sultry photo of Jenner complete with the heart eye emojis in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. The Shade Room mentioned that it was likely a response to Jenner Snapchatting with his music in the background.

Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) has spent the majority of 2016 unable to leave South Africa. The rapper was arrested for attempting to use a "world passport" document to travel out of the country in January, and while he was later released on bail, he has been forced to stay put until further decisions were made.
Today, The Guardian reports that Bey has been granted the ability to leave South Africa, but will not be able to re-enter. Bey's "unreserved apolog[y] to the government of South Africa," has been deemed satisfactory, and the country is dropping their charges against him. However, Bey he has been added to South Africa's "undesirable persons" list.
According to TMZ, Bey's attorney is planning to appeal the rapper's status with the South African government once he is back in the U.S.
The "world passport" Bey attempted to use is a document created by the World Service Authority, an organization fighting for world citizenship. While most countries will not accept the document as a passport, Togo, Mauritania, Ecuador, Zambia, Tanzania, have accepted it, according to the WSA.

It's (Instagram) official - 2Pac biopic "All Eyez On Me" has a release date. According to a video posted on IG, the highly anticipated flick will be released on June 16th, 2017 - Tupac Shakur's birthday. If he were still alive, he would be turning 46 years old on that day. Over on the Hot 100, “Me and Your Mama” debuts at No. 69, where he notches his third entry on the chart following “Crawl” (No. 86 peak in 2013) and “V. 3005” (No. 64 peak in 2014).
The soulful new tune is the first song released from his upcoming studio set, Awaken My Love, due in December. On Nov. 17, another R&B track from the album, titled “Redbone,” was released and could impact the Dec. 10-dated charts.
While his previous full-length albums (Camp and Because the Internet) were rap-heavy, the first two previews from Awaken show a more R&B-inspired sound from the multi-faceted act.

The rapper formerly known as Mos Def is returning to the U.S. after his use of a "World Passport" landed him on South Africa's "undesirable persons" list.
Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) has spent the majority of 2016 unable to leave South Africa. The rapper was arrested for attempting to use a "world passport" document to travel out of the country in January, and while he was later released on bail, he has been forced to stay put until further decisions were made.
Today, The Guardian reports that Bey has been granted the ability to leave South Africa, but will not be able to re-enter. Bey's "unreserved apolog[y] to the government of South Africa," has been deemed satisfactory, and the country is dropping their charges against him. However, Bey he has been added to South Africa's "undesirable persons" list.
According to TMZ, Bey's attorney is planning to appeal the rapper's status with the South African government once he is back in the U.S.
The "world passport" Bey attempted to use is a document created by the World Service Authority, an organization fighting for world citizenship. While most countries will not accept the document as a passport, Togo, Mauritania, Ecuador, Zambia, Tanzania, have accepted it, according to the WSA.

32 years ago Michael Jordan was coming off a "National Player of the Year" season at UNC, selected #3 overall by the Chicago Bulls and, if things had gone his way, about to sign a sneaker deal with Adidas.
Adidas had relatively no interest in MJ though and the brand he wore in college, Converse, was only willing to offer him $100,000 a year. Jordan's parents convinced him to listen to Nike's pitch, in which they offered him $500,000 over five years, and the rest is history.
In just the first two months that his signature sneakers were on sale back in 1985, Nike had sold $70 million worth of Air Jordans. Now, 31 years after the Air Jordan 1 originally hit retailers the sneakers are still going strong and the company expects the franchise to be worth $4.5 billion in annual sales by 2020.

"All Eyez On Me" will be released on Tupac's birthday.
It's (Instagram) official - 2Pac biopic "All Eyez On Me" has a release date. According to a video posted on IG, the highly anticipated flick will be released on June 16th, 2017 - Tupac Shakur's birthday. If he were still alive, he would be turning 46 years old on that day. From what we can tell, the announcement went down at a birthday party for Demetrius Shipp Jr., the actor playing 2Pac. Check out the video below.

If you haven't been reading up on the film yet, Jamal Woolward, the actor who played Biggie in "Notorious," is reprising his role here as Christopher Wallace. Benny Boom is the film's director, and although he doesn't have as much experience with feature films as F. Gary Gray who made "Straight Outta Compton," Boom has directed some seriously lit music videos. Notably, he directed Nicki Minaj's "Beez In The Trap" and Waka Flocka Flame's "Hard in Da Paint."
