Rihanna's 'Needed Me' Jumps to No. 1 on Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks Chart

Rihanna rules the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart (dated May 7) as "Needed Me" rockets 44-1 in its fifth chart week to become her third leader on the survey. The song follows Rihanna's other toppers (which each led for one week): "B**** Better Have My Money" nearly a year ago and "Work" (featuring Drake ) last month.
Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks is a weekly ranking of the most shared and/or mentioned songs on Twitter in the U.S., ranked by the volume of shares over a seven-day period (Monday to Sunday).

"Needed" darts to No. 1 after its racy revenge-themed music video premiered April 20. The clip, directed by Harmony Korine (Spring Breakers ), gathered 1.8 million U.S. views on YouTube in the week ending April 21, according to Nielsen Music, driving the chatter on Twitter and yielding the song's huge chart gain.
Meanwhile, Ariana Grande scores the week's highest debut on Top Tracks with the No. 3 arrival of "Let Me Love You" (featuring Lil Wayne ). Grande unveiled the cut on her YouTube channel April 18, and it drew 753,000 U.S. streams for the week. "Love" becomes her lucky 13th top 10 on the chart, extending her mark for the most among female artists, and Lil Wayne's fifth. The collaboration is from Grande's third full-length,
Dangerous Woman , due May 20.
Two more Woman cuts also occupy places on this week's ranking: the title track (No. 2) and "Be Alright" (No. 16), which re-enters after Grande's March 12 Saturday Night Live performance was posted to her YouTube channel April 18.

Also in the top 10, A$AP Ferg enters at No. 7 with "Strive." The rapper posted the track to his YouTube channel April 14, and the house-infused collaboration vaults to 1.5 million domestic streams in its first full tracking week. The Missy Elliott-assisted "Strive" also gains traction in the wake of Ferg's second studio album release,
Always Strive and Prosper , April 22.
Meanwhile, Prince's death on April 21 sparks two entries on Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks . The icon's 2008 cover of Radiohead 's "Creep" bows at No. 30, likely powered by the fact that it's one of the few Prince performances available for wide Internet consumption. The late musician notoriously blocked most of his catalog and performances from Internet sites, but "Creep" was exempted thanks to Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, who told The Associated Press , "Well, tell him to unblock it. It's our ... song."
