Drake Throwing More Shade At Meek Mill?

London's been good to
Drake. Earlier this week, the OVO captain insinuated that he'd "signed" to independent grime label, Boy Better Know (BBK), home to Skepta and JME. Then he showed up at Village Underground for a surprise set, rather than attending the official BRIT Awards after parties.
Last night (February 26), Drake made another unexpected appearance, this time at Libertine. Reportedly he deejayed then performed a couple of songs. Video of the artist performing "Back To Back" surfaced showing a slightly altered version of the GRAMMY nominated diss track. This time he added "That nigga still ain't did shit about the other one." Some are calling this another shot at Meek, but again, he was rocking "Back To Back" which is, again, a GRAMMY nominated diss track. Does one get double points for double dissing?

Meet The 13-Year-Old DJ That Spun For President Obama

iHeartMedia’s Real 92.3 has become Los Angeles’ leading urban radio station. The terrestrial outlet boasts an array of talented deejays and jocks, none more surprising than DJ Young 1, the 13-year-old phenom who’s currently a member of Real’s Mix Mob DJs.
Young 1 is a student at Culver Middle School and has been an avid music fan throughout her young life, citing classical music and jazz as her first favorites. Her jones for turntables began after hours of mastering DJ Hero.
“I used to play that a lot,” she tells HipHopDX. “My mom was like, ‘Jeez, you’re really good. You’re beating the whole entire game.’ Of course, it’s not like real life deejaying. But it’s somewhat similar to it. I was really good at it. So we went to the Scratch DJ Academy located in West LA. DJ Hoppa, Chock, Fortified, Rob Shot—all these legendary deejays are the people that were my teachers. I went there for a year and a half and graduated at 10-years-old, almost about to turn 11.”
After finishing Scratch Academy, Young 1 landed a spot on America’s Got Talent . The exposure caught the eye of President Obama, who invited her to spin at the 2014 Easter Egg Roll in front of 30,000 people. Her big radio break came after her mother heard about Real’s LA launch and pitched Young 1 to Big Boy as the perfect addition.
“ Big Boy was like skeptical about it because there weren’t any 12-year-old deejays [but] exchanged information with my mother,” she says. “He gave me [Doc Wynter’s ] information and that’s when I came over here. He was like, ‘Why don’t you go in the studio, show us what you can do for a little bit and we’ll discuss it after’. Maybe about an hour and 30 minutes later, we got the job. I was excited. I got hired in April 2015. Ever since then I’ve been at the station.”
Now a Real 92.3 staple, Young 1 is plotting her entrance into production. She’s a fan of
DJ Khaled and says she’ll be working with him in the studio this month.
“I express my feelings on the turntables through music,” she says. “That’s what I like to do and I like to inspire other people by them listening to me on the airwaves. Hopefully I can take that to the next level and become a radio jock. For now, I’m happy and appreciative for everything I’ve done since I’ve been here. I want to thank everyone on the team because they’re the people that not only with just radio station, but actually helped me through my life. They’ll sit down and talk to me about school or whatever, advice.
“For those that are watching this,” Young 1 concludes before continuing, “if you want to achieve something, don’t be afraid to do it. It doesn’t take age or wisdom. There’s no requirements to doing what you love.”

Justin Bieber Almost Made It On Kanye West's "Ultralight Beam"

Justin Bieber almost made it to the final cut of
Kanye West 's opening The Life Of Pablo track, "Ultralight Beam," Fonzworth Bentley tells
FADER in a narration of the songs inception.
"I called Poo Bear, who's from College Park and wrote a lot of Justin Bieber's album,"
Fonzworth Bentley says. "And he was with Justin at the time. I'm from Atlanta, Poo Bear is from Atlanta—so Poo Bear comes up and catches the vibe. Justin hops on the phone and is like, 'Tell Yeezy whatever he needs I got it.'"
Justin Bieber and Poo Bear meet with Yeezy at the studio where a cypher began between Kanye, Chance The Rapper and Justin in line with the melody of "Ultralight Beam." Bentley describes the moment as creative and filled with "vibes and pattern."
"Then Justin got on the mic and sang some a cappella," the 42-year old musician adds. "It was free flow. It was creativity."
Once all the recordings were finished around 8 o'clock in the morning, Kanye tells Bentley to edit the tracks, however in the process of arranging the song he "hears" Kelly Price and Kirk Franklin in a choir on the track and that's what made it to the final cut.

Kanye West Announces New Album Title, Praises Will Ferrell on Twitter

History has proven that Kanye West isn’t the most decisive person when it comes to naming his albums.
Kanye and 'Pablo' Didn't Hit the Charts, But They Will (When He Decides He Wants To)
So “as of now,” the rapper’s next release will be titled Turbo Grafx 16 , he tweeted Friday night (Feb. 26). “Just on some super nerd vibes… one of my favorite gaming systems when I was a kid…,” West wrote, adding that “Blazing Lazers" was one of his favorite games.

“Will Ferrell has reached walking living breathing god status!” West tweeted. “I just want to thank Will Ferrell for the years of joy he has brought into my life with amazing comedy.”

Nicki Minaj Calls Out 'Fake Stories' on Twitter

Rumors that Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill had a “blowout fight” over Mill’s upcoming house arrest are circulating, but she seems to be laughing off the tabloid reports .
Meek Mill Gets 90 Days of House Arrest for Parole Violation
“S/o to these fake stories,” Minaj wrote on Twitter, quickly changing the subject to: “Who's ready for the show tomorrow?”
Minaj then retweeted a GIF of herself giggling with Mill, who will be serving 90 days on house arrest beginning March 1 for violating the terms of his parole in a 2009 drug and gun case. TMZ claims that Mill wanted Minaj to live with him in Philadelphia during the three-month period, but she refused to drop everything and put her career on hold.
The tweets may or may not be a response to the recent chatter about their relationship, but either way, the rapper seems to be amused by the gossip mill.

Boosie Badazz Announces "Boosie BadAzz: Bigger and Badder Than Ever” Album

Boosie Badazz announced his forthcoming Boosie BadAzz: Bigger and Badder Than Ever album during an interview with XXL.
“Me and Atlantic [Records] are going to drop the big nationwide album, Boosie BadAzz: Bigger and Badder Than Ever ,” the Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper says. "We going to probably drop that in June and get a promo running. Every month I’m dropping. I’m just going in. I’m dropping four, five, six videos a month. It’s my time.”
During an exclusive interview with HipHopDX that was published yesterday (February 23), Boosie Badazz says that his Thug Talk mixtape will be released in March.
The Atlantic Records recording artist also knows that there are limitations to the project’s title.
“ Thug Talk means a lot of people won’t understand it, but millions will understand it,” he said during the HipHopDX interview. "If you don’t understand it, you’ll have to listen to it and understand the life of someone living life as a thug. It’s not that we’re made to be thugs, but put in situations to be thugs. In this CD, we’ll describe the life of a thug. The ups, the downs, things you should do, things you should not do, the reasons you shouldn’t want to be a thug and the reason you have to be a thug. It’s going to basically lay it out flat to you. If you want to know how I came up and know how I lived, you’ll listen to Thug Talk . It’s basically just taking a person and explaining what we go through."

Bruno Mars Accused Of Jacking "Uptown Funk" From 70s Rap Group

The immense success of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" (2016 Grammy Award for Record of the Year, over one billion views on YouTube) has not come without the inevitable lawsuit.
The Sequence, one of the first female rap groups, are putting it in the air that their 1979 song “Funk You Up” was used as "inspiration" for the recent mega hit, TMZ reports .
The group, consisting of Angie Stone (of chart-topping R&B fame) Cheryl the Pearl and Blondie (not "Rapture" singer Debbie Harry) had their rep Kali Bowyer threaten the lawsuit in the media as they note the similarities in the hooks "funk you right on up" portion.
Strangely enough, no lawsuit has been filed but both parties fall into the ordeal with reputations that are less than stellar. In May of 2015, all five writers of The Gap Band’s 1979 hit “Oops Upside Your Head” were given credit for "Uptown Funk" after a terse yet brief battle over particular lyrics in the song. And nearly nine years ago, Bowyer was found to be lying about Chris Rock fathering her child after a sensational blitz through the media.

The rumors began circulating in December when she postponed her ongoing Unbreakable World Tour until the spring to undergo surgery. The tour had been slated to resume on Jan. 9 at Denver’s Pepsi Center following a number of previous cancelations. A week later, Jackson confirmed that the postponed dates had been rescheduled.

Rihanna Garners 14th #1 Song With "Work"

Rihanna's "Work" featuring Drake is the #1 song on Billboard's Hot 100 chart this week, the publication announced today (February 22).
This is the singer's fourteenth song to reach the top spot on the chart, the third most of all-time. Rihanna surpasses Michael Jackson, who previously held the #3 spot with 13. Her other tracks to hit #1 include "Diamonds," "We Found Love" and "What's My Name," which also features Drake.
Ahead of Rihanna , the Beatles have 20 songs and Mariah Carey has 18 songs to reach the position.
Rihanna responded to the accomplishment on social media, thanking her fans, the Navy, on Twitter and then posting a video on Instagram of Homer Simpson and Family Guy 's Peter Griffin washing cars and twerking.
Drake thanks Rihanna on Instagram for both of the songs that reached #1.
"Two number ones and they are both cause of you..." the Toronto rapper writes with a screenshot of the video for "Work," which was released today. "Midas Touch Riri. Thank you!!!"
"Work" appears on Rihanna's eighth studio album, ANTI , which hit the top spot on Billboard's Top 200 albums chart in its second week of release. The LP was first released to TIDAL, where the singer's partnership with Samsung helped the album sell 1 million copies within the first day. Billboard did not recognize those sales, which resulted in ANTI debuting at #27 .

J. Cole - Forest Hills Drive: Live

ood live albums aren’t exactly common in Hip Hop. A rapper's bursting energy and the crowd’s overflowing reaction don’t always transition well onto wax. J. Cole attempts the feat with Forest Hills Drive: Live --from his hometown of Fayetteville, NC--in which he raps his latest album, sans “Note to Self.” The show itself aired January 9 on HBO as Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming . The question remains: does it have universal appeal, or should it have stayed in his hometown?
A legitimate criticism that can be made of
2014 Forest Hills Drive , a strong album in its own right, is that it was too often subdued. This live album atones for such a flaw, sprucing up tracks including “January 28th” and “03’ Adolescence.” J. Cole does this not by changing the tempo of the songs but by rhyming with such force that his lyrics provoke strong and undeniable emotion. For instance, when J. Cole is rhyming about a friend schooling him on his own reality, followed by his own inner reaction, the words are intensified in a way they weren’t on the original version. “How you looking up to me when I look up to you/You ‘bout to go get a degree I’ma be stuck with two/choices either graduate to weight or selling number two/For what, a hundred bucks or two a week/Do you think that you would know what to do if you was me/I got four brothers, one mother that don’t love us/If they ain’t want us why the fuck they never wore rubbers?”
He lowers his voice when he rhymes about his admitted selfishness, “I felt ashamed to have ever complained/About my lack of gear and thought about how far we done came.”
His intensity ensures his passion sticks with the listener long after the song is over.
At times, he wisely doesn’t mess with his formula; “No Role Modelz” and “Love Yourz” mirror their original counterparts, allowing the rapper to take center stage for topical songs. However, there are times when alteration produces unfortunate results. “Wet Dreamz” surrenders its smoothness when he screams its lyrics. During the intermission, which offers a breath of fresh air for the audience, “Lights Please” benefits from a burst of energy followed by a quiet finish. However “In the Morning” and “Nobody’s Perfect” both relinquish their cool through hyped up renditions.
J. Cole is also an artist who knows how to play to his audience. Often, he knows specifically when to let the crowd join in or rap a bar for him. His love for his city and his fans bleeds onto the album, from his lessons ("Happiness comes from love, not material possessions"), to his relatable humor (“I don’t know even know what the fuck LED lights mean, but I’m paying for them bitches”), to his raw honesty (“I don’t even know where the fuck St. Tropez is at”). He also adds brief narratives in between some of the songs for those who may have missed the finer points of his life story.
Sonically, DJ/Music Director DJ Dummy ensures the album doesn’t stray too far from the original, which is a good thing. It’s still elegant, with its beautiful strings, rain-drop piano keys and knocking drums intact. Ron Gilmore and Irvin Washington on the keyboards provide low-to-mid-tempo background music for J. Cole’s musings to the crowd. Occasionally, music is added to enhance the experience, such as the hyped up scratches on the blistering version of “Fire Squad.” Throughout, the music never gets lost in J. Cole’s liveliness or the audience’s energy.
With Forest Hills Drive: Live J. Cole has done what few rappers have been able to accomplish. He has bottled a full album concert that has added to the original's excellence. Fans who were in attendance may enjoy it more than those listening on streaming sites, but the the more emotion-driven tracks show off his his undeniable marketability to all.

Azealia Banks Disses Rihanna’s “Work” Video

Azealia Banks disses Rihanna’s “Work” video in a tweet today (February 22) that has since been deleted.
“Work video reminds me of baby boy video with Sean Paul except not as fly,” Banks writes in a tweet. A screen grab of the post was captured by Pop Crave and is below.
Beyonce’s “Baby Boy” single was featured on her Dangerously In Love album, which was released in 2003. Both the song and the video featured Reggae artist Sean Paul.
Rihanna’s “Work” song and video feature
Drake. The cut is included on the singer’s
ANTI album, which was released last month. The “Work” video was released today and is on HipHopDX .
This isn’t the first time Banks has bashed one of music’s most popular female acts. In October, she blasted Nicki Minaj, who was involved in a war of words with Miley Cyrus centered on her “Anaconda” video not getting nominated for MTV’s Video Music Awards video of the year.
"I wish Nic would stop trying to turn this Miley thing into a race issue cuz she was mute about cultural approp. until she became “victim,”” Azealia Banks wrote on Twitter at the time. "Plus how u gonna complain about a video with skinny women when ur body is enhanced .. You too were once a skinny woman.”

Consequence Recalls Ghostface Killah & Wish Bone's Brawl At Def Jam's Holiday Party

Consequence narrates what went down during the infamous Def Jam Holiday Party brawl in 1996, with Complex .
During this time tensions were high between West Coast and East Coast Hip Hop artists, partially because of Bad Boy Entertainment's ongoing feud with Death Row .
As Wish Bone of Bone thugs-n-harmony was being escorted through what was then 90s NYC hot spot Mirage before it was Terminal 5,
Ghostface Killah saw him and asked him what he was doing there, presumably because Bone thugs-n-harmony was signed to Eazy-E's label Ruthless Records.
Tony Starks then throws a champagne bottle with an attempt to hit Wish Bone and misses. The bottle consequently hits a guy from Consequence's crew.
"So now it's a melee," Cons says. "Bottles everywhere. It's crazy in there. So Tribe's manager [Chris] Lighty go get my guy to take him to the hospital because he's cut pretty bad. He's just bleeding everywhere."
Consequence says once they're in the car on the way to the hospital he spots Ghostface taking off his outfit and putting on a ninja suit with three other guys.
"After that they went their way and we went to hospital," the Bronx, NY rapper continues. "That's my Ghostface story. I really seen him do some shit in the streets that's way past anything that's said on social media. Like, he really is about that Wu-Tang life."

Judge Orders 50 Cent In Court After Flaunting Loads Of Cash

A judge has ordered 50 Cent to appear in court after posting a series of photos of himself with loads of cash, according to CNN Money. The rapper filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July.
"I'm concerned about allegations of nondisclosure or a lack of transparency in the case,” U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Ann M. Nevins told 50 Cent’s attorney in a Hartford, Connecticut court hearing Thursday (February 18).
In a number of photos and videos posted last year, 50 Cent is pictured with what appears to be thousands of dollars .
"There's a purpose of having a bankruptcy process be transparent, and part of that purpose is to inspire confidence in the process," the judge also said. Bankruptcy court is where "an honest but unfortunate debtor can come into court and seek relief,” Nevins added. "When that process becomes very public, the need for transparency, I believe, is even higher.”
50 Cent’s attorneys say their client has done nothing wrong.
"Mr. Jackson has been forthcoming and transparent with all creditors,” his attorneys said to the judge, referring to 50 Cent by his given name, Curtis Jackson.
In July 2015, 50 Cent was ordered to pay $5 million to Lastonia Leviston for posting a sex tape of her. Leviston has a daughter with Rick Ross, with whom 50 Cent has a rivalry.

Tyga Invites Paul McCartney To His Concert

Tyga invited Paul McCartney to his concert after the Beatles singer was denied entry into the rapper's Grammy party.
The rapper appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to share his side of what happened after the awards ceremony.
"I woke up to a series of texts and TMZ," Tyga says, referencing the site that broke the news. "Like so it was pretty crazy. I had no knowledge. I was inside performing. I wish I woulda knew he was outside. I woulda went out there with the mic, brought him in, performed right there with me."
McCartney was denied entry twice Monday (February 15) after attempting to get into the Argyle, where Tyga was performing. Apparently, the club was at maximum capacity and the fire marshall ordered no more entries.
"Tweet the fire marshall," Tyga says to the late night host. "Don't tweet me."
When asked if he has reached out to McCartney, the rapper points to his posts on Twitter that he wrote the day after the Grammys.
"I tweeted him, but I don't think he seen my tweet," he says.
In his social media posts, Tyga tagged the singer, calling him "a legend" and said he "had no knowledge SIR PAUL was there."
Tyga then invites McCartney to the Los Angeles stop of his "Rawwest Alive" tour.
"I have a show coming up February 26 at [Club Nokia]," Tyga says. "Paul, if you're watching this, I would love for you to come. I will personally walk you in."

Bobby Shmurda Claims He Never Heard From Martin Shkreli

Martin Shkreli announced to HipHopDX in December that he planned to bail Bobby Shmurda out of jail and the GS9 member says he has yet to hear from the controversial pharmaceutical boss in an interview with
ThisIs50.com .
Shortly after announcing plans to bail out
Shmurda, who is being held at Westchester County Jail in New York for weapon and murder charges on $2 million bail, the ex-Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO got into his own legal battle and was charged with securities fraud .
"I heard what happened to him," the Brooklyn, New York rapper says. "That was crazy. I think they did that shit for no reason really because all this time now he was talking about us and all of sudden he gets locked. I hope he works it out. I hope he beats his case."
The Epic Records signee's trial keeps getting pushed back and any attempt made to secure bail has been met with denial for what he says is a total of nine times.
The 21-year old Shmurda also shared his opinion on why his bail is constantly denied. Bobby's new trial date is set for May 22 .
"Right now they ain't trying to give me the deal because they know if I come off I'm going to beat this," Bobby says. "Right now they trying to hold me here as long as possible."
"They got nothing on me," Shmurda adds. "I'm not even supposed to still be here. I got different lawyers pertaining to my case thats saying that the bail is supposed to be dropped and these charges are supposed to be dropped. The bail not even supposed to be high due to the Emory Law Book. They just violating my constitutional rights. My civil rights that they are just flushing down the toilet for their own political reasons."

Justin Timberlake & will.i.am Sued Over "Damn Girl"

Justin Timberlake and will.i.am are being sued over the singer's song "Damn Girl" from the 2006 album, FutureSex/LoveSounds .
According to Billboard , Janis McQuinton, sister of musician Perry Kibble, filed a copyright infringement lawsuit today (February 17) through Kibble's publishing company. She is claiming that Timberlake stole the hook, rhythm, harmony and melody from Kibble's 1969 song "A New Day is Here At Last."
When Kibble died in 1999, the rights to his music transferred to McQuinton.
McQuinton says she discovered the striking similarities in the songs in August and is asking a judge to demand the stop of the reproduction, distribution, and public performance of "Damn Girl." She is suing not only for the song's appearance on the album, but also for its inclusion on Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds" tour DVD.
will.i.am is a guest feature on "Damn Girl" and is listed as a defendant alongside Timberlake and Sony Music Entertainment in the case.
Another legal battle that Timberlake's music is facing is a lawsuit filed against Universal Music Group over "Suit and Tie." Two members of Sly, Slick and Wicked sued the label for not licensing the song for use in a Bud Light commercial.

Fans Rally to Help Kanye West Get Out of Debt

"Without our help, the true genius of Kanye West can't be realized"
Kanye West fans are coming to the rescue. One benevolent soul is vowing to help the rapper pay off his $53 million debt by launching a
GoFundMe page.
Jeremey Piatt set up the page on Feb. 15, and at press time 299 fans have chipped in $3,044 towards the cause. West publicly asked
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for financial assistance on his Twitter page, with seemingly no success.
Piatt clarified that he isn't looking to earn "a penny" from the endeavor, and requested that GoFundMe transfer all the funds over to West's handlers.
Kanye West Shakes Off Debt in Twitter Binge: 'Money Doesn't Make Me Who I Am'
"Kanye West, prolific entertainer/fashion icon/celebrity/member of the Kardashian family needs our help," he wrote on the page. "Recently, Kanye let us in on his personal struggle. He is 53 million dollars in debt and it doesn't look like he's going to get Mark Zuckerberg's help that he desperately needs."
Piatt encouraged fans to open their "hearts and wallets for Kanye today."
"Sure he is personally rich and can buy furs and houses for his family, but without our help, the true genius of Kanye West can't be realized," he said.

OVO Sound Duo Majid Jordan Talk Meeting in a Bar, Self-Titled Debut & Working With Drake

Before combining their talents to form OVO Sound duo Majid Jordan, Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman's friendship blossomed in a bar. It was Majid's 21st birthday and he helped sneak a then-18-year-old Jordan into Toronto pub The Beaconsfield. Despite the small age difference (Majid is now 25 and Jordan 22), their thirst for drinks and musical knowledge jump-started their bond on wax.
"That's Toronto -- young people mix really well with different age groups," recalls Majid, who was born and bred in the island nation of Bahrain before attending University of Toronto, where Jordan was also an undergrad. "When I was 19, I remember hanging out with 30- to 35-year-olds that were in the house music scene ... Meeting Jordan when he was at that age reminded me of being around older people that knew so much [about music] and just wanting to understand that."
Their introduction in a bar resulted in Jordan, an Aurora native, sharing a song with Majid that he flipped within a day of their meeting that eventually turned into "Hold Tight," a smooth slow jam off their 2013 project afterhours -- released under their previous moniker, Good People. YouTube hunting with Majid revealed their similar musical interests, which ranged from French house to all things Quincy Jones. Their mission: put good vibes on wax. Then, 24 hours after afterhours hit timelines, Drake's righthand producer, Noah "40" Shebib, slid into Majid's inbox. "It was maybe that day we realized that we could make a project and work together," says Jordan.
Majid Jordan are Dancing Downers on Self-Titled Debut Album (Review)
Fast-forward to 2016 and they have churned out two projects: the 2014 EP A Place Like This and their self-titled debut , a 12-track set that blends electronic funk with alt-pop on top of snappy grooves and sexy synths. (Standouts beyond the singles "My Love" featuring Drake and "Something About You" include "Small Talk" and "Love Is Always There.") The pair notes that the change in scenery also lent to the album's sonic aesthetic as they jetted to L.A. to work with producers like Illangelo, the Canadian beatsmith who frequently works with
The Weeknd .
Los Angeles, which Jordan describes as the video game " Grand Theft Auto in real life," also hosted around-the-clock songwriting sessions for the duo, who tackle different phases of relationships from honeymoon love to the end of the road. "The way we were working in L.A. was cool because we were spending so much time together. We were living in a house that had a studio in it. We would wake up, spend the day then go in and make the song," explains Majid. "It was a live conversation that was being produced and recorded."
The lone feature on Majid Jordan comes from OVO boss Drake, who recruited the duo for the two-step magnet "Hold On, We're Going Home." Drizzy also took a hands-off approach to Majid Jordan's LP during the creative process. "His involvement was more after we came up with the album [together]," says Jordan. "We were able to take it and listen to it with him, hear his advice and approach to it, which is incredible to have."
Drake Drops New Song 'My Love' With Majid Jordan
In much the same way Kanye preaches positivity on "Ultralight Beam," Majid Jordan takes the common human experience of achieving an end and actualizing it in their music. "We're all working toward the same thing," says Majid. "It's about taking those experiences that we learned in life where it's like how do we transfer that feeling of working toward that end goal and putting it to music?"
Not that Majid or Jordan need guidance -- their studious approach to music has made them a sponge to different sounds and song structures that it's difficult to stuff their catalog into one genre. The way Jordan describes the second to last track on their LP, "King City," though, almost sounds like a metaphor for their personal journey.
"The idea of moving from a place that you love and going somewhere where you feel like there's something calling you," he says of the track's inspiration. "You don't really know what it is but you're hoping that when you do get there, there's a reason why this all happened."

2016 Grammys Performances Ranked From Worst to Best

From tributes to musical icons who are no longer with us to performances from artists destined to go down in history as iconic in their own right, the 2016 Grammys boasted some of the best live Grammy performances in years.
Rihanna Cancels 2016 Grammy Performance
While a few songs were marred by sound issues (and unfortunately, doctor's orders prevented Rihanna from performing at all), even more of them ranked among the best Grammy performances in recent history. Here are the performances at the 2016 Grammys ranked worst to best.
19. The Hollywood Vampires – "As Bad As I Am" & "Ace of Spades"
Guns N' Roses alums Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan joined rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires (Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, Johnny Depp) to perform a tribute to late Motorhead legend Lemmy Kilmister with "Ace of Spades." Well, not until they'd played a new song called "As Bad As I Am" first. It was an okay rock original, but to be honest, for an event this big, their performance of a new song went on far too long. It would have been more rewarding to hear them tackle 1-2 more Motorhead songs or even deliver a Cooper classic. The Grammys tribute to the peerless Lemmy should have been a lot harder, louder, and longer.
18. Adele – "All I Ask"
There's no denying Adele is one of the finest vocalists of this era. But thanks to technical issues, Adele's performance of "All I Ask" wasn't her finest. There was an odd clanking sound at the start with the piano, and her voice didn't seem entirely comfortable throughout the performance. CBS confirmed there was a 5-8 second sound issue that was out of their control. Later, Adele explained what made the weird instrumental sound: "The piano mics fell on to the piano strings, that's what the guitar sound was," she tweeted .
Kendrick Lamar Performs In Chains at the 2016 Grammys
17. Tori Kelly & James Bay - "Hollow" & "Let It Go"
Two best new artist nominees, both slinging guitars, traded soft-but-heartfelt vocals on her "Hollow" and his "Let It Go" (no, not that one). Although Bay's vocals sounded strained at first, he found his footing before long, and awards show champ Kelly was spot-on as usual.
16. Sam Hunt & Carrie Underwood - "Take Your Time" and "Heartbeat"
While Sam Hunt and Carrie Underwood's voices melded together gorgeously for some parts, Hunt's vocals sounded strained at other moments. Also, their performance clocked in at nearly five minutes, which was a bit long for a segment lacking any choreography.
15. Glenn Frey Tribute by Don Henley, Jackson Browne & Joe Walsh – "Take It Easy"
While all the participants were certainly in tune paying homage to the late Glenn Frey, their performance could have used a boost of energy. Perhaps the addition of a younger performer (or choosing a less obvious song) would have shaken things up.
14. Little Big Town – "Girl Crush"
Little Big Town's gentle, heartbreaking ballad has been performed at numerous awards shows in the last year, but they added a new level of class to the proceedings with the addition of a full string section. As always, it was moving and beautiful.
13. The Weeknd - "In the Night" & "Can't Feel My Face"
The Weeknd is a fantastic live performer and his voice was incredible on the Grammy stage, but the choice to devote most of his segment to the low-energy "In the Night" was inadvisable. It might've worked better to start with the slow song and work up to the high-energy "Can't Feel My Face."
12. Miguel – "She's Out of My Life
Miguel's lovely, brief tribute to Michael Jackson seemed a bit random (it was seemingly included to promote an upcoming Off the Wall reissue and Spike Lee documentary), but it was a nice diversion nonetheless.
Taylor Swift Shades Kanye West in Grammy Speech
11. Pitbull, Travis Barker, Joe Perry & Robin Thicke – "El Taxi" & "Bad Man"
Pitbull closed out the Grammys with an energetic version of his "El Taxi," complete with a surprise appearance from Sofia Vergara in a glam taxi costume. After that, Mr. Worldwide performed his new single, "Bad Man," along with featured artists Robin Thicke, Joe Perry and Travis Barker.
10. Stevie Wonder & Pentatonix – "That's the Way of the World" (Maurice White Tribute)
Stevie Wonder was joined by a cappella champs Pentatonix for a tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire co-founder Maurice White, who passed away not quite two weeks ago. Their vocals layered together gorgeously for an all-too-brief version of "That's the Way of the World," which sounded remarkable but should have lasted longer.

9. Andra Day & Ellie Goulding - "Rise Up" & "Love Me Like You Do"
After Andra Day performed a bit of her breakthrough song "Rise Up," Ellie Goulding joined her on stage and the two traded vocals on Ellie's "Love Me Like You Do," which then segued back into Day's "Rise Up," and then back again. This was one of those rare Grammy mash-ups that almost makes the originals sound better: the instrumentation was expertly melded together, and they seemed to push each other to greater vocal heights.
8. Alabama Shakes – "Don't Wanna Fight"
Brittany Howard is pretty much one of the greatest voices in modern music, so whenever Alabama Shakes take the stage, you know you're in for a peerless performance. Their Grammys run-through of "Don't Wanna Fight" -- with her gritty, controlled vocals and the band's rock-blues-funk fusion -- was no different.

7. Lionel Richie Tribute by John Legend, Demi Lovato, Meghan Trainor, Luke Bryan, Tyrese & Richie ("Easy," "Hello," "You Are," "Penny Lover," "Brick House," All Night Long")
One of the most stacked performances on Grammys night was also one of the best. An assortment of R&B, pop and country stars --along with the man himself -- performed a tribute to the inimitable Lionel Richie, singing classic solo songs and Commodores hits. Legend's vocals were the finest, but Tyrese won for sheer enthusiasm.
6. Taylor Swift - "Out of the Woods"
Swift set the bar high at the start of the 2016 Grammys, opening the show with "Out of the Woods" joined by co-writer Jack Antonoff. Her singing and set-up were flawless, and when she started doing vocal runs at the end, it was clear this was one of her best awards show vocal performances to date.
5. Justin Bieber, Skrillex & Diplo – "Love Yourself" & "Where Are U Now"
Riding high off his first Grammy win, Bieber delivered an impassioned acoustic run-through of "Love Yourself" before joining DJs Diplo and Skrillex -- both performing live instruments -- for a hard-rocking, kick-ass version of "Where Are U Now." Diplo pounded the skins, Skrillex made his guitar scream, and Bieber danced like it was the best night of his life.
4. Hamilton Cast – "Alexander Hamilton"
Broadcasting live from the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City (with an introduction by Stephen Colbert), this Hamilton segment marked the first time the Grammys featured a live performance from Broadway, giving most of the nation its first taste of the groundbreaking hip-hop musical. The emotional, enervating retelling of American history was one of the night's standout moments.
Lady Gaga Dazzles With David Bowie Tribute
3. Lady Gaga's David Bowie Tribute ("Space Oddity," "Changes," "Ziggy Stardust," "Suffragette City," "Rebel Rebel," "Fame," "Fashion," "Let's Dance," "Under Pressure," "Heroes")
Running the gamut of David Bowie's fashion and musical evolution, Lady Gaga covered a breathtaking 10 Bowie songs in six minutes. Some of the theatrical affectations of the performance might have verged on kitschy, but in terms of vocal prowess and energy, Gaga was a fireball. Backed by Bowie collaborator Nile Rodgers and Raphael Saadiq, Gaga was in her element with a performance that was equal parts Bowie, Bette Midler and Gaga herself. It was almost as alien and astounding as Bowie himself.
2. Chris Stapleton, Bonnie Raitt & Gary Clark Jr.'s B.B. King Tribute – "The Thrill Is Gone"
After his career-changing CMAs performance, expectations were high for Chris Stapleton at the 2016 Grammys. He did not disappoint. The soulful, pained growl in his voice almost matched the late King's, and Clark -- a guitar god among us -- nailed the blues master's iconic solo. Bonnie Raitt then took the stage to lend her world-wizened voice to the classic song, making this a perfect musical trifecta.
1. Kendrick Lamar – "The Blacker the Berry" & "Alright" & Freestyle
Handcuffed, chained and in a prisoner's shirt,
Kendrick Lamar (flanked by incarcerated jazz musicians) shuffled onto the Grammy stage, making his political intentions immediately clear. After "Blacker the Berry" -- complete with black lights and a scorching sax solo -- Lamar did "Alright" in front of a blazing bonfire while tribal dancers moved with as much energy as his pushed-to-the-edge flow. The whole performance culminated with a schizophrenic series of jump cuts focused on Lamar's face as he spit (literally and figuratively) his final freestyle. When he wrapped, a glowing image of Africa with the word "Compton" emblazoned across it appeared behind him. It was easily one of the best live TV performances in history.

BIEBER TO FRENCH MONTANA NICE WORKIN' WITH YOU HERE' S A $ 150 K THANK YOU

Justin Bieber knows how to show gratitude .. . he bought French Montana a $ 150 , 000 chain after working with him on a song .
Justin presented the chain to French back in November for his birthday , but it would seem their bond in the recording studio upped the ante for the gift. Justin and French recorded the song in July , along with Mariah Carey and
T . I .
Apparently the chain wasn' t tricked out enough for French , because he just got it iced out with diamonds for an additional $ 90 k .
Just a token of appreciation

Tyga Reportedly Filed For Chapter 13 Bankruptcy 5 Years Ago

Tyga filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy on December 10, 2010, according to theJasmineBrand .
The California aritst filed in order to maneuver his way out of paying his former landlord money after he won a default judgement for Tyga's failure to pay his past due rent which has only recently been paid
The 26-year old rapper born Michael Ray Stevenson said that he only had $50,000 and could not afford to pay his creditors the debt he owed which neared almost $500,000 and included the money owed from the Tarzana home he was evicted from.
According to court documents, in January 2011 HSBC Bank USA accused Tyga of filing the bankruptcy in "bad faith to delay, hinder or defraud the bank" and a motion for relief from the automatic stay was filed.
"They explained that the rapper transferred all or part ownership, or other interest in, a property without the consent or approval of the court," reads theJasmineBrand.com . "The bank said that in June 2009, a woman named Olivia Blaisure transferred ownership of her home in Whittier, California from only herself to have her,
Tyga and a man named Mark Cannon. She said she was adding them to the deed as a 'gift.'"
Over $700,000 was owed on the home and bank wanted the courts to allow for them to continue to foreclose on the home for unpaid mortgage.
The bankruptcy filing was dismissed in February and no debt was wiped clean because of the Young Money rapper's failure to provide the required documents.

Jay Electronica says that Kendrick Lamar “wishes he could be me” in a video.

Kevin Gates & Wife Share “Freakiest” Sexual Escapade

Getting sex in the whip, and not crashing it.
Kevin Gates and his wife Dreka Gates recently appeared on an episode of Angela Yee’s Lip Service to discuss just about everything in their relationship, including their “freakiest” sexual escapade.
First off, the couple were asked to reveal what they believe is the best thing to do following an argument.
“I go kiss on that pussy,” Kevin Gates replied. “I put the big old lips on that pussy [laughs].”
Dreka later admitted that such a response does work well to quell an argument.
“No it actually does work because you feel good,” she said. “You forget about whatever the hell you were arguing about anyways because it was probably pointless.”
Later in the interview, the conversation became a little more revealing, with Dreka admitting that nothing is off limits in terms of the couple’s sex life.
“Nothing is really off limits, nah,” Dreka said. “[Fisting], oh nah, that would be. Yeah, I don’t fuck with that… Yeah, I’m not with that… I don’t do fingers. I don’t like fingers. I’m a clean freak.”
Wrapping up, Kevin and Dreka detailed the “freakiest” place they’ve had sex.
“Freakiest? The craziest thing we’ve done [is while] driving a car [laughs],” Dreka said, somewhat simultaneously with Kevin. “We were driving in the car and I got and sat on [his] lap while he was driving and we did it [laughs].”
