Even though Lil Wayne's Tha Carter Vis currently being held captive inside the Cash Money/Young Money vault, the rapper won't stop feeding his fans new music. Lil Wayne recently stopped by The Nine Club to speak on his beginnings with Cash Money, his Miami rooftop skatepark, his storied career and his decision to drop a new project titled Funeral.
"Just make sure they know that Funeral is coming soon," said Wayne toward the end of the interview. When asked what Funeral was, he responded, "That's my music."
"I have a whole bunch of good news coming soon," he continued. "If you are a Wayne fan, I know we been going through tough times right now, but if you're a Wayne fan, we 'bout to hold our heads high."
In December 2014, Wayne vented on Twitter about his creative setbacks, claiming that Birdman and Cash Money Records "refused" to release Tha Carter V. "To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won't and hasn't been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it," he tweeted. "I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain't that easy ... I am a prisoner and so is my creativity."
Despite his Birdman beef, Lil Wayne has also landed cameos on recent projects like Solange's A Seat at the Table and Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman.
